My 2012 Gobbler

This old tom was a hard catch, but a fun one. I hunted hard for two weekends in a row in michigan. We saw plenty of birds along the road sides, but just not very many on our property due to how green this year was. We hunted hard this year no doubt. I was sitting in the back of the property not seeing a darn thing. I decided to pack up and head to a blind towards the front of the property. That's when my dad called from the same blind saying a bird is in a small field less than 100 yards from him. So i finally got him to give in to let me make a move on this bird. I slowly made my way to a creek 50 yards shy of the field where i dropped everything but my camera gun diaphragm and homemade jake decoy (aka JBUBB). I crawled into the field about 20 yards where the bird had seemed to disappear from. I started to call when he hammered back about 300 yards down the field and in the neighbors woods. I got the camera on, and the show began. He strutted and gobbled 200 yards all the way to 14 yards where i dropped him all on film - the kill shot because i left my tripod at the creek. It was one of my most prized memories i will ever have in the hunting woods. The following weekends, I took my brother to the same spot trying for a big puff ball. We came close several times, but something always went wrong, from coyotes chasing birds off, too birds having amazing eye sight. This season had a lot of good times and footage packed into it.

Tough deer season

The year was hard starting off with an ambush hunt in some corn rows. I shot the monster whitetail at 1 yards. With a good shot, we took no chances and waited until morning. We went back to the spot from the prior evening. We followed blood for over 300 yards. Ended up, we looked for 2 days not finding the monster. All season, we hunted hard with no luck, until my brother connected on a nice 10 point at last light. Too dark for the camera but still a fun hunt. I ended the season with a nice bow kill of my own on film while hunting alone. It was a small doe, but also my first kill on video and it was alone. Also my second bow kill. I also took a very nice 130 pound doe with my muzzle-loader later in the season at 100 yards open sights. Hard season but fun.

There is a challenge that all hunters look for that is almost impossible but yet people manage to succeed in the challenge. If you dont know what im talking about then you should learn more about it and try it. Its turkey hunting the midwest (MICHIGAN, INDIANA, KENTUCKY, OHIO) Its a really fun and exciting way to get in the woods.

If you need more imformation then you should contact the NWTF team at NWTF.com
Thats what i did to get some tips and they gave me the right things that I was looking for and they are really nice too.

Good hunting and always remember to take a kid hunting and respect the outdoors

Tred the man Barta

There is one man in the world that can do anything he puts his mind to when it comes to hunting or fishing. Do you have any guesses who that is?
Its the great Tred Barta. He had a spinal cord stroke in 2009 i believe and this has only happened to one other man. That man had a leakage near the stroke and had imediate surgery. Two days later the man walked out of the office. However the doctors were sure that this is what happened to Tred it wasnt. He now is paralised from the waste down and has to sit in a wheel chair for the rest of his life if we dont act fast. You can help out by donating money for his medical bill. Go to this website for more details. http://bowsite.com/bowsite/features/interviews/tredbarta/index3.cfm

Thanks for your help and pray for this amazing man to get well soon because all of us know that he is one of the best hunters on the face of the planet.

Small game hunter

I love hunting, you may have noticed, but one type that i aspecially like is bird hunting. I love how when you go pheasant or chucker hunting the way you must be alert and not slacking around. I love the challenge aspecially.
